Here's a small guide, making things clear.
Silver dollar size bodies - 7 gallons per fish
Quarter size bodies - 5 gallons per fish
Dime sized bodies - 3 gallons per fish
Matured bodies - 10 gallons per fish
Which other fish are compatible are angelfish?
Experts reveal that, angelfish should be kept with angelfish only. Angelfish get quite aggressive while pairing; this may prove to be dangerous for other fishes. Sometimes angelfish do not get together well with other fish, so avoid. The only fish which can be kept with them are bristle-nose ansistrus or some corydoras, as they do not carry any pathogens.
How much temperature should be maintained?
Angelfish can survive in different temperature ranges. Normally, the temperature should be between 80° to 85° F. In low temperatures, angelfish show very unnatural behavior. Low temperature disturbs the angelfish by reducing its immunity due to which they show less growth, they become less aggressive and they do not even breed frequently.
When should the angelfish be fed?
The feeding habits of a fish depend on its age and the temperature set. The angelfish would ask for frequent feedings if the temperature has been set high, as its metabolic rate gets high if it gets warmth. A juvenile fish of more than 4 weeks will require 3 feedings a day, if you want to increase their diet and appetite, keep them in warm conditions. Grown-ups need less food than the growing ones and the expecting female angelfish. If you cannot feed them more than twice, then keep the temperature as low as 77°F.
How much water should be changed in one go?
No rules apply to this question. If the water which you are changing has the same pH balance and hardness, then it makes no sense changing the tank water. Changing 10 % water on a daily basis and changing 50% of water do not show much change, but the latter is always preferred.
Till now you must have got good knowledge of these beautiful creatures, so what are you waiting for, bring home these angelfish.
